Early tomorrow morning, I will be travelling by train from Amsterdam to Li&#232ge, Belgium for business. This will take just over three hours if all goes well. There are very few places that I dislike, and one of them happens to be Li&#232ge. I’ve been there twice, and all I remember is the industrial grey the city sports from its coal shovelling days. I know there’s more to the city than this, but I just never seem to get past the grey.

Tomorrow, I’m giving Li&#232ge its third and final chance. I love Belgium, I speak French (I don’t dare utter any Dutch there), and I hope it will be a good trip. Li&#232ge does have excellent waffles, although the one pictured here is more the oozing kind you get from Belgian train stations. Yum!

Favourite actors

Jean Reno
Benoit Poelvoorde

It’s autumn here in the Netherlands, not much rain yet, but lots of leaves. It’s also time to slowly stock up on DVDs and tape decent films on the hard disk recorder. I made a list of actors I like. I don’t know why I like them.

Although the Internet Movie Database or IMDB is a great place to settle those arguments people get into at dinner parties when they think there’s both right about the name of that actor in that film, my comment is anything that is not Hollywood, American or known by Americans is often incomplete. So many pictures of famous actors from outside the US are missing as if they were invisible.

Actors I really like:
Jean Reno
Benoît Poelvoorde (both here above)
Roger Moore
Sean Connery (geez, I wonder why)
Fabrice Lucchini (haven’t seem him in a while…)

I know there’s more, but I cannot think of them at the moment!
